Ministry of Interior Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, who is also Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, said in a report presented to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz that 55 percent of this year's pilgrims are male.
The minister said that 1,315,850 pilgrims came by air, 59,204 by land and 13,999 by sea.

Small increase in foreign pilgrims

The Minister of Interior announced today that 1,389,053 pilgrims from 163 nationalities have arrived in Saudi Arabia to perform this year's Hajj. The figure reflects an increase of 8,545 (0.6 percent) over last year.Ministry of Interior Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, who is also Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, said in a report presented to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz that 55 percent of this year's pilgrims are male.
